Some years later, I became the child whom grandpop most talked to and walked with throughout the neighborhood. When he went to the herbal store, I asked why he was buying what he did. He told me he was making cough syrup for a client or something to increase another's appetite or other reasons.
He explained what he did was to help people who were sick. He used herbs to heal them. I asked one day whether he would pray for me to become a healer too. He did pray over me for what seemed like hours. I saw no difference in my life. Five years later, he died. I often thought and think about him.
